A New Tradition

A New Tradition

Even though Maine has 228 miles of coastline, it can be difficult to find a nice piece of land on the water to build a new home. One answer to this dilemma is to purchase an old house on the water and tear it down to build a new one.

This traditional home sports 6 gables, a standing seam roof, and a great view of Muscongus Bay in Cushing, Maine. The front entry sits under a wrap around porch, a great place to sit and visit. Inside, the open floor plan allows you to be preparing a meal in the kitchen while enjoying the conversation around the fireplace in the family room. The eating area has a banquette surrounded with windows on 3 sides. A window seat in the family room is a great place to curl up with a book. The wood beams on the ceiling add some old world charm to the space. The bedrooms upstairs have sliding doors that open onto 2 balconies. A new building that looks like an old home is perfect for this repurposed property.
