As a young person, people always asked Taylor what he wanted to be when he grew up. He had no idea but he knew he loved the outdoors and working with wood. It only seemed logical to pursue a career combining both interests.
A native of Camden, Maine, Taylor graduated from the University of Maine with a degree in Forestry. He worked as a mason tender and carpenter before building his own house and then venturing out to start Taylor-Made Builders in 1986. It was in this newly built home that he started operating his company from a small basement office. A lot has changed over the years, but Taylor’s desire has always been to please his customers and give them superior craftsmanship beyond their expectations. By succeeding at that, he has crafted Taylor-Made builders into the builder of choice in Mid-Coast Maine.
Taylor and his wife, Christine, live in Northport and have three grown children. When he is not working, Taylor enjoys spending time with his family on the water.
Jerad first started out in construction during his high school years. After graduating from Kansas State University, he moved to Arizona to work for a commercial builder. He slowly moved his way north over 14 years, managing residential and commercial projects in Colorado, Wyoming, and Idaho. In 2012 he began working with a custom home builder in Jackson, WY and eventually started his own building company in Victor, Idaho, focusing on residential projects. Jerad is skilled in all phases of construction from initial rough ideas, to creating drawings with architects and clients, to preparing budgets and schedules, to handing over the keys at the end of the build.
Jerad and his family recently relocated to Maine. He’s excited about living in an area with so many classical building styles and learning from New England craftsmen. Jared is looking forward to exploring Maine and getting to share his love of the outdoors with his two children.
